Always feed and water daily, I feed them Blue Seal Show Quality Pellets, purchased at Tractor Supply (could be a special order),however, you can slowly introduce another brand however stay at 16% to 18% protein level unless you have a pregnant doe.
Fresh Timothy Hay is given to rabbits for the necessary fiber great way to keep their digestive system moving. Always watch their intake and output. If for any reason your rabbit stops eating or drinking for over a day give it Critical Care by Oxbow. Always nice to keep in stock, probably something that you should purchase while purchasing everything else. I purchase online but I think they may sell it at Petsmart.
I give the rabbits fresh fruit such as apples and bananas but they must be at least 4 months old. I give them treats once or twice a week including rabbit yogurt drops.
Pieces of non treated wood…. apple branches or untreated pine cones (careful not to have mold on pine cones) are some things I give the bunnies. They must chew on things to keep their teeth worn down. Apple sticks work well too!
For their bedding, we use non- scented wood chips or pine. I use newspaper on the bottom of cage tray then I put non scented fine shredded pine unscented. Our rabbits do not come litter trained, however, you can litter train your rabbit, some of my rabbits have corner litter pans that they use. There are lots of videos on youtube that gives advice on litter training.
Grooming, I brush the rabbits weekly bi weekly at the very least. By grooming your rabbit especially while shedding, will greatly reduce wool block. You can use a cat grooming brush/comb. I always clip their nails once every two months. They do not need to be bathed, rabbits are self groomer, however, if they get a poopy bottom (that happens from time to time) you can use Dawn Dish Detergent. It is safe for animal use.
